Privacy

Effective Date: October 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how RoomAid ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the RoomAid app (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

‍1. Information We Collect

Account information
. RoomAid does not have username and password sign-in. You sign in with Apple or with Google, and RoomAid receives a unique account identifier from that provider and stores it so we can recognize you next time. RoomAid does not store your password, and RoomAid does not store your email address. Inside the App you choose a display name, which is stored encrypted. If you sign in with Google, the identifier Google gives us is the same one Google uses for your Google account with other services, so a copy of it can connect your RoomAid account to that Google account. If you sign in with Apple, we also keep a token from Apple, stored encrypted, so that we can tell Apple to end RoomAid's access when you delete your account.

‍Household content. The things you create in the App: status updates, tasks, calendar entries, shopping and list items, the names you give rooms, pets and household items, and the names of people in your household who do not use the App. A household admin can also add the household's postal address. When you type an address, the App uses Apple's address search to suggest matches, so the text you type is sent to Apple for that search.

‍Device information. A device identifier and device name, so you can see where you are signed in and sign a device out. If you turn on notifications, we also store a push notification token for that device. Notifications can include household content, such as a task name or a status, and are delivered through Apple's push notification service.

‍Support and feedback. If you send feedback or answer a survey in the App, we store what you wrote, along with your app version, operating system version, device model, language and time zone.

‍Server logs. Our servers keep standard web server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. Our servers also record the IP address of a request they refuse for sending too many requests.

‍Sign-in providers. Sign in with Apple is provided by Apple, and Apple lets you hide your real email address. RoomAid also includes Google's Sign-In library so you can use a Google account. According to Google's own privacy disclosure for that library, it may collect your name, email address, phone number, coarse location, device and user identifiers, and usage data, and may use some of it for Google's analytics. That collection is Google's, not ours. RoomAid never asks for your phone number, requests no location permission, and cannot receive your location.

RoomAid does not show ads, does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and includes no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting software of its own.

‍2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
To provide and maintain the functionality of the App.
To show your household members your statuses, tasks, lists and plans.
To send you notifications related to your use of the App.
To respond to your support requests and feedback.
To keep the App secure and to diagnose problems.

‍3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. However, we may share your information in the following circumstances:

‍With Household Members: Your statuses and the content you create are visible to the other members of your household. Households are joined by invite code only. There is no public feed, no discovery and no way for a stranger to reach you in RoomAid.

‍Service Providers: Amazon Web Services hosts our servers and database in the United States. Apple provides Sign in with Apple, delivers our push notifications, and provides the address search described in Section 1. Google provides the Sign-In library described in Section 1. Twilio SendGrid is connected to our servers to deliver account email; with Sign in with Apple or Google, RoomAid sends you no email. We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising service.

‍Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.

‍4. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

‍5. Your Choices

Access and Correction
: You may access and update your personal information through the App's settings.

‍Communication Preferences: You may opt out of receiving certain notifications by adjusting your settings within the App.

‍Account Deletion: You can delete your account from inside the App, at Settings then Account then Delete Account. No email or support request is required. Deleting your account removes your account and your name from the App at once. Households you belonged to keep their own history, with your past activity shown as belonging to a deleted account. What RoomAid keeps after a deletion is described in the next paragraph. If you would rather have us do it, you can also write to us at the address in Section 8.

How long we keep data: When you delete something in the App, or delete your account, it is removed from the App at once. RoomAid keeps a record of every change inside our systems, and a copy of what you deleted stays in that record. This includes your display name, the account identifier we receive from Apple or Google, the names of people in your household who do not use the App, the household's address, the places you add to calendar entries, and what you wrote in feedback and survey answers. No one can see these copies in the App. People at RoomAid with access to our servers can read them. The record of changes is kept permanently. Our database is also copied to encrypted backups, which are deleted within 90 days. If we restore the database from a backup, anything deleted after that backup was taken returns to the App until it is deleted again.

‍6. Children's Privacy
RoomAid is a tool for people who share a home, and it is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it.

‍7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with the updated effective date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
